Intelligent Transmitter Range

We supply radio transmitters with single and dual inputs. The intelligent sensors connect into the base of the transmitter via a miniature IP68 rated connector. The radio transmitters are battery powered and can supply power to the transmitter and sensor for 5+ years. Batteries are user replaceable through a screw lid. Each transmitter contains a high intensity LED and test switch providing local indication of connection to the network.

For larger installations, we can supply a range extender that increases the area covered. Multiple range extenders can be added to form a mesh style network allowing the transmitters to communicate over long distances and complex structures.

Range extenders are mains powered. Optional battery backup units are available.

Digital Rf transmitters for use with intelligent sensors

Designed to work with Tek Troniks D3 wireless base stations and are compatible with a full range of Tek Troniks Intelligent sensors (see below). Long range secure communication protocols using licence free radio frequencies. Bi-directional wireless communications with the base station allows for communication status reporting. Can be used in environments where wash down is required. The screw top battery compartment allows for users to easily replace the battery, every 5 years. Dual input transmitters allows for 2 intelligent sensors to be connected on 2 separate channels.

Digital Rf range extender (Repeater Module)

When covering large areas or where obstructions block the wireless transmitters natural signal path “Repeater” modules can be used. Using repeater modules forms an interconnected mesh of  repeaters which forward information from wireless transmitters, using the most efficient path, back to the base station. Should any individual repeater become inaccessible, alternate repeaters can be discovered by the transmitters and used, thus providing a robust and reliable network topography.

Intelligent Sensor Range

Our range of high accuracy sensors perform the necessary conversion from the measured factor to digital data which is then sent via an attached radio transmitter. Each intelligent sensor has its own unique id and can be updated with multi-point calibration data including the date it was last calibrated.

Intelligent temperature and humidity sensors can be provided with UKAS calibration. Intelligent sensors attach directly to single or dual input transmitters. If you can't see a sensor solution contact us for more details on our bespoke manufacturing offering.

Frequently asked questions

How does the sensor communicate with the base station?

The sensor communicates with the base station via the wireless transmitter.

Each minute the sensor takes a reading and transmits it via the attached transmitter, in a digital bit format, to the data to the base station.

The base station confirms receipt of the data, the transmitter goes back to sleep and awaits the sensor to give its next reading.

How frequently is sensor data updated?

The sensor sends data once every minute, the base station stores this data to memory for later review.

How are the transmitters powered?

Powered is supplied by a user replaceable 3.6V AA lithium battery.

How long do the batteries last?

Transmitter batteries should last a minimum of 5 years.

The batteries specification is covered within the user manual, they are readily available from us and other stockist around the world.

Are the batteries user replaceable?

The batteries in the transmitter are user replaceable and are accessed through a simple screw cap.

What's the maximum distance between a transmitter and base station?

Transmitters are designed to send data over long distance, but should a transmitter struggle to communicate then repeaters can be added to create a communications network.

Multiple sensors can talk through a single repeater, data can be sent repeater to repeater to cover the largest of areas with thick walls and insulation layers.
